Family Montessori Preschool of Loyola
2019
Education
Family Montessori Preschool of Loyola is a pre-school for children aged 2½ to 6 years old. With facilities in Quezon City and Marikina City, the school aims to help young children develop their social, emotional, and intellectual skills in an interactive learning environment built around community, teamwork, and empathy.
Based on the Montessori approach to education, the school’s highly personalized curriculum in which vertically-grouped students interact with hands-on learning materials with the assistance of on-site directors.
In the fall of 2019, I was approached by the directors of both facilities to give the school’s brand identity and website design an update. The result is a timeless and child-centered identity design that better represents the school’s compassionate and productive atmosphere for the current and future generations of FMP students, parents, and faculty members.
A Family All Grown Up
The FMP icon has been simplified and refreshed with improved proportions, brighter colors, and more consistent, organic shapes. It’s a more mature yet child-centered evolution that evolves upon the original’s design without losing its meaning and reads well even when used small.
A Day in the Life of Family
Bringing to life the human figures within the icon, the brightly-colored key visuals throughout the identity playfully showcase the valuable learning experiences and meaningful social bonds that happen every day at FMP.
To Rose, Noel, Aura, and the FMP Loyola Heights and San Roque faculty and staff. Additional thanks to Teddy for assisting with photography and video work.
